Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, The romantic-drama film The Piano. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also portrayed the teen groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
